Paris Saint-Germain are interested in making Jose Mourinho their next manager as they prepare to cut ties with Mauricio Pochettino.

The Ligue 1 champions have long had plans to offload Pochettino at the end of the season and they had been keen to replace him with Antonio Conte, who has since reaffirmed his commitment to Tottenham.

SunSport reported that the Parisians are now contemplating replacing the Argentine with the resurgent Mourinho.

Nice manager Christophe Galtier is the favourite to replace Pochettino but surprise reports suggest that Mourinho is also a contender to take the hot seat.

Mourinho has been linked with PSG in the past but the arrival of Luis Campos, who is taking over from Leonardo as sporting director, has led to a revived interest, report The Telegraph.

Mourinho and Campos remain friends having closely worked together at Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain have dominated domestically since Qatar Sports Investment took over the club in 2011, but the European trophy has remained elusive up to now following a string of disappointing defeats in the latter stages.

The Special One guided Roma to Europa Conference League glory last month and a sixth-place league finish.

And the 59-year-old’s stellar debut season at the Stadio Olimpico has promoted PSG chiefs to weigh up a summer swoop for his services.

Indirect contact has been made with Mourinho’s camp over a possible move to Paris, but multiple sources have confirmed that the former United and Chelsea boss is infatuated with life in Rome.

PSG will have to dig into their deep pockets to land the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss as his contract with the Giallorossi expires in the summer of 2024.
